It's finally SPRING!!

It's hard to believe it's spring already but our winter has been so mild. Everything is almost leafed out and starting to bloom. It's in the 70's and people are starting to mow! But it's still only March! The dogs are sooo hot, since they're still sporting their winter coats! Hopefully they'll start to loose some of that. Mara and Gracie are due to whelp this weekend, so hopefully everything goes well. For Mara, it's her first time, so you never know what to expect. Gracie is an old pro by now!

Thought I would put some pics of our latest member of the house, Isicles. She's quite the card! She loves to pounce on unsuspecting Donna. It's usually quite the rodeo! Donna also does not like to share her food, so she is always racing to the kitchen to protect it! We looked out the window one morning and there was Isicles out in our huge evergreen. She's very athletic and loves to play with Fancy. Those two are always rolling around. Here's Isicles perched in our evergreen tree! Hoping to catch something!

Only one puppy left!!

All the puppies are gone except for Gibbs. He was pretty lonely at first but now has become Fancy's little shadow. She runs like the wind and is so athletic, it is so funny to watch him (with his stumpy little legs) try to catch up with her! He's king of the house too, the kids play all sorts of games, but by that time he's exhaused (probably from running after Fancy!) and just wants to sleep. But the girls love that because then he's their baby (he's usually found all wrapped up in lots of blankets)!
Little Gibbs is available and needs his own special home!

We had an interesting day on Sunday, Debra (our nanny goat) was due to kid anytime. But I knew there was something drastically wrong. The vet came out and did a c-section and she had two billy goats, and one nanny. The "kids" are doing great, but we lost Debra. We're not sure what happened to her. She has been our pet for about 5 years and it was so sad. So now I'm feeding baby goats in the middle of the night and during the day. I will get some of their pictures posted pretty soon. There's always something happening on a farm, some good and some not so good.

February????

Western and northern South Dakota are getting blizzard conditions with 8 inches of snow and strong winds. Down here in the southeastern part of SD we are getting thunderstorms! It just keeps raining we got 1 1/2 inches of rain! The ground was covered with snow now it's almost pure ice. The aussies don't seem to mind it though, they're always willing to run around outside. Down by our calf barn we have a big pile of cornstalk bales and Buck and all of the adults LOVE to run and play in it. Gidget is always following me close, since I have the pails of milk! She looks like a polar bear! The puppies are 7 weeks old already and only 3 are left. Hopefully they find their forever homes soon.

We went out to my parents ranch and had so much fun, although the weather was gloomy. I'll put some pics up of their ranch. Some wild turkeys in their tree belts.
Bullet sticking out his tongue at the camera!
My dad's work horses, Dick and Tom.
